Integral Power’s Testing and Commissioning Engineers perform extensive integration and functional testing of secondary circuits in order to prove that all circuits are fully functional, stable and integrated as required.

Current injection and voltage application across primary equipment followed by measurements and indications across corresponding secondary devices ensures end-to-end functionality and polarity of all connected circuits.

Integral Power Testing and Commissioning Engineers undertake extensive testing and commissioning of your assets using state-of-the-art, professionally calibrated test equipment, fully traceable to a NATA accredited body under ILCAS. Test results obtained during testing are compared against FAT results, manufacturer’s publications, relevant Australian and International standards. Poor matches are investigated and rectified where possible, whereas, other issues are promptly reported to client.

Integral Power’s Protection Testing and Commissioning Engineers have extensive experience in the setting up and the testing both modern Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED) and legacy electromechanical relays. Our engineers have experience working with protection relays, supplied by a wide range of vendors including: GE, SEL, Alstom, AREVA, Schneider, Merlin Gerin, ABB, Siemens, Reyrolle, CHINT, Basler, etc...

Protection relays are tested through either secondary injection or otherwise to prove that the programmed protection scheme is operating at the required thresholds and is fit for purpose. A comprehensive, independently reviewed test report is then provided for each IED to establish its suitability & function as per the protection design.

Integral Power’s Testing and Commissioning Engineers are trained in Protection Coordination and provide swift solutions and suggestions to address any problems or concerns that could adversely affect the overall protection scheme, integration or plant operation.

In addition to SCADA & Protection System Commissioning, our engineers specialise communications protocols including: DNP3, IEC 61850, IEC 60870, CANBUS & Modbus.

Integral Power has helped customers ensure that their HV assets comply with the OEM datasheets even before the equipment is dispatched to site. We witness as well as carry out a full series of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and provide comprehensive FAT documentation to the customer. Our Factory Acceptance Test coverage ranges from general wiring tests through to full functional testing of protection relays/logic and communications back to a SCADA master station simulator. As part of our FAT testing, we revise and submit all the required secondary as "As built".

Integral Power deploys a suite of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) during the execution of all its commission engagements. These ITPs document all the required test instructions and defines the expected test outcomes. The actual test outcomes are recorded in Inspection Test Reports (ITRs).

Integral Power uses a robust field force automation (FFA) system that enables our commissioning engineers to efficiently collect field test data and then digitally reference it to the corresponding ITPs using mobile handheld field devices.

This system has helped eliminate the need for manual data handling, increasing the efficiency of our reporting while streamlining our business processes. The end result is a more cost-effective testing & commissioning service for our clients.

All FFA devices are connected to a proprietary cloud application software that extracts all the field data, performs comparison against AS/NZS, IEEE, IEC and NETA standards and seamlessly generates draft test reports for our engineers to review & finalise.

Our field force software application contains prebuilt inspection & test plans (ITPs) and HV test templates for all HV asset classes. This technology ensures that our test documentation is always consistent, compliant and readily available to our customes.

Our FFA system is an integrated part of our larger automated work management system that integrates other Integral Power business functions.
